PH or pantyhose balance is the balance I try to keep between my love for pantyhose, tights and other tight stretchy articles of clothing and my relationship with my wife and my life in general. There will be reviews of hosiery and other tight stretchy clothing as well as my ramblings...Enjoy!

Just a quick update on Shivers
It appears that Shivers founder got the inspiration for Shivers from wearing pantyhose to keep warm!

Another great business idea! I really want to try these out!

A new product
While searching a couple of news stories on LAUF, I came across these new long underwear:
They look kinda like hosiery, but kinda sporty. I like the idea!
A quick image search just came up with these two pictures from a bike messenger site. A look at their site shows the article is gone.

Not much to say today, how about another cartoon?

Someone stole my idea!
I had an idea, to get into the hosiery industry. the New Doyeah hose and tights come in only two styles, and only one size. I thought that I could buy a bunch of those hose, and re-sell them on ebay. Well someone beat me to it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=140296654676&Category=166695&_trksid=p3907.m29&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D1
These Chinese hose are also being carried by:
http://www.legwear4men.com/
and
http://www.luxelegwear.com/
In reality, getting into the hose business, for me, would probably be more work than it is worth. It was kinda a neat idea though.
How about a laugh for today, re-posted from LAUF. I'm surprised it didn't get squashed because it is about cross dressing.

One warm day..
Followed by cold. Warm, was relative. It was in the upper 30's. I wore my Comfilon A677's. They are not tights, but sheer pantyhose, of course with a fly. Comfilon came out with these in the fall, and so far I'm pleased. They offer more support than the 549's that I am used to. they also appear, after about a half a dozen wearings, to be more durable. I think, because of the durability, they will become my new favorites. I like to wear the Comflion tights when it is cooler, and the pantyhose when it is a little warmer, say in the fall and early spring. It is too hot for pantyhose under my work clothing in the late spring, summer and fall. This past summer, I switched to sheer knee high stockings form Comfilon, and couldn't have been happier. More in a later post.
I stumbled upon this story while reading another blog about pantyhose:
http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2009/01/23/renee_zellweger_gives_underwear_firm_a_b
Apparently I'm not alone in wearing pantyhose to keep warm!! I, however, only wear one pair.
Hey, do you enjoy this blog? Got something to say? Any feedback from the ladies? We'd love to hear from you!

Mrs. PH is disappointed
Mrs. PH and I were talking this morning, and she stated that she is disappointed in the lack of comments to our blog. I told her that there are many that I read, but do not comment on. Are there any wives or significant others who read our blog? If so, we'd love to hear from you. If you are a man who enjoys wearing hosiery, encourage your wife or significant other to read our blog and comment back.
What else is going on in the world of men's pantyhose? Well apparently Oprah still has an interest in them. Thanks yet again to a fellow LAUFer for this story from Access Hollywood
http://www.accesshollywood.com/oprah-jay-z-pete-wentz-and-more-react-to-obamas-inauguration_article_13157
In the article she says that she is wearing men's pantyhose, probably something she got that she was going to use for her piece on male pantyhose that got postponed due to the plane crash last week. I look forward to seeing her do a piece on it, I hope it is serious, and not a comedy routine like we usually see.
That being said, there has been lots of articles about men wearing pantyhose. Could it be that it is becoming more commonplace? That brings up a second question. If it does become acceptable, will it still be considered a fetish?
That is all for today. As always, we loved to hear from our readers!

Was it the tights?
Along with wearing pantyhose, I do have other interests. I began running years ago, to stay in shape. From running I transitioned to bicycling, but it is tough to cycle in the winter where we live. That left the months of November to March with me cycling inside. I transitioned back to running, and that helped me keep my sanity through out the winter months. It is easier to run outside in the winter than to cycle.
I don't mind exercising just to exercise, but it is easier if you have a goal. I entered a few long distance races last year, fully knowing that I wouldn't win, but just for bragging rights. This year is no different. Today, I went on a long run. The last time I went on a long run, I found my legs sore after, something that I did not experience last year. Today when I went out for my long run, I tried something different. I had been wearing regular cheap Leggs pantyhose under my sweat pants. Today, I wore the Comfilon A879 Full support footless tights. I ran two miles longer than my last long run, and my legs were not as sore. Was it the full support tights? Or, was it because I was doping, ( I took 2 Advil 3/4 of the way through it) I don't know, but I feel great!
One of the LAUF posters posted an interesting article today.
http://www.bestpantyhosereview.com/hosiery/men-buying-pantyhose
Have you ever bought pantyhose in a department store, and thought you were being sly, and the cashier would not know that they were for you? According to this article, cashiers are used to men buying pantyhose, and are aware that they are usually for the men buying them. Interesting..
Almost 700 Views!! We started the blog at the beginning of January, and at this rate, we will be over 1000 views for the month. very impressive. If you like what you are reading, please let us know! If you don't, let us know that too. We love feedback!!

As Mr PH pointed out last night, we have had visitors from all over the world. He asked me if I was going to mention any of the locations. I won't. I'm wearing my Human Resources hat and am not going to do that, out of respect for the privacy of our readers. No one needs to know that except the reader and ourselves. It's really interesting to me to see where people are coming from and wondering what their weather is like, especially on cold snowy days like today. Seems like we've had a lot of them lately!
I really would like to hear from you guys and your spouses, ones that are comfortable talking about it. Or even ones that might not feel comfortable and want an outlet. I needed one, which is why I agreed to start the blog collaboration with Mr PH.

Holy Shit Batman, over 500 views!
Can I say shit? It's our blog, I'll say what I want!! Thank you to all who have been reading our blog. I would encourage you to respond with your opinions, personal stories, and especially for Mrs.PH feedback from spouses and significant others of men who enjoy wearing hosiery.
Mrs. PH can probably tell you better, but we've had readers from all over the world. I hope we are providing at least some good information to someone.
I check a few men's pantyhose websites daily. I've been following http://legwear4men.blogspot.com/
In it the owner of Legwear4Men stated that he just started carrying the Doyeah pantyhose, a new Chinese brand, and they are selling like hot cakes. I want to get some to try them out. The one thing I like is that they are a bit cheaper than other men's pantyhose, just over $10 each. I will probably buy some within the next couple of weeks, and I will be certain to post my personal review of them here. Of course they have what I require for men's hose, a fly!
Until next time guys, stay hosed and happy!

Too cold for hoisery tonight
Brrr!!! It is cold out! I worked last night, and it was about 2 degrees when I left home. When I got out of work early this morning ( I sometimes work overnights) it was 18 below zero!! I wore Comflion 849 tights last night. I was only outside for a short time, and the tights were not cutting it. Tonight it is supposed to be just as cold (1 degree as I write), so tonight I'm wearing Under Armour Cold Gear leggings. Similar to tights, but no feet. I like wearing under armour, it is my underwear of choice when I' not wearing hosiery.
No go on male pantyhose being featured on Oprah today. Yesterday's plane crash postponed that. Hopefully she will have the story on in the future. I look forward to it, and hope that male hosiery is portrayed in a positive manner.
I hope that by my writing this blog I too can do my part to promote male hosiery. I like my job, but I would't mind doing something for or in the male hosiery industry. I feel that strongly about it.

The Forum isn't taking off
The forum I created the other day is doing what I feared it would, nothing :( Although I find the LAUF forum a good resource, and I learn new things every day from that forum. for instance, yesterday, I learned that Oprah will have a piece on Friday about men's hoisery. Just like last weeks Saturday Night Live, I will be waiting with antici.....pation for it to play. (Does anyone get the reference to a cult movie there?)
Today on LAUF, there was a review of the new brand of Chinese hose for men, Doyeah. I would like to try them, because they are made for men, and have a fly. When I do try them, I'll be sure to post a review here.
As for mens hose with a fly, I scored big a couple of years ago, getting a pair of "Mr. Influential Warm-Ups" A great concept from the 70's They aren't the best, but part of my collection of men's hose. I like to consider myself a collector and connoisseur of fine men's hoisery. The one problem with these, is that thy are one size fits all, which means that they don't fit so well. A great concept for men's hoisery from the pioneers, and I have a pair!
That being said, I think my favorite men's hose are the Comfilon 549's. I'm wearing a pair right now in tan. Of course they have a fly (almost a requirement for me) and are reasonably priced at $13.99 at the Comfilon website. Overall, I think that they are my favorites. I have tried another of Comfilon's hose with a fly, the 677's, and although I think they will wear longer than the 549's, the verdict is still out and a better review will follow. My only complaint with the 549's is that they are much more fragile than say the 849's, which are actually tights.

What I'm wearing today
I decided to try to post a picture, and apparently it worked! The picture is thanks to Shapings.com, a Canadian Hiosery company, who caries mens pantyhose/tights. Today, it is cold, only 14 degrees as I write. I had to go to work for a couple of hours, and I knew that I wouldn't be outside much, just from the car to the building etc. I decided today, since I haven't worn them for a while, to wear a pair of Activeman, from Lida a Polish company. As you can see, Lida decided to try to be "stealthy" and make a more opaque sock portion. To the casual observer, it may appear as if you were wearing dress socks. No one saw my ankles today, because I was wearing boots, but it had been a while since I've worn these hose. You can also see that they have a more shher portion from the top of the sock portion to the bottom of the brief portion. Most importantly, they have a fly. This is almost a requirement for me. The fly is a "Y" fly like on "tighty whities" The brief is also opaque enough to hide the goods. I like the concept, but don't wear them too much. Since they are not too heavy, it needs to be a bit warmer than today for me to wear them. The pair I have I have had for a couple of years, and although I haven't worn them much, they have worn well. They sell for $17.39 at Shapings.com (Canada), and $12.24 at http://tights-for-men.com/ (UK)

So I was wondering what to write today
I wanted to write something today, as I have a little more time than usual this morning. I was messing around on the computer at the LAUF site when I thought, why not try to start up a forum where we, the writers and readers of this Blog can discuss men wearing pantyhose or other hoisery, and our wifes feelings towards this. I shortly there after came up with, ta da!
http://forums.delphiforums.com/PHbalanced/start
A new forum on Delphi, that we can discuss men wearing pantyhose, and all that goes along with it without fear that if we bring up the "F" word (fetish) we will be chastised. I look forward to hearing form the readers in the forum, and hope that the forum will serve as an extension of this blog, and a place for the open discussion of wearing pantyhose and a place for our spouses to be able to respond as well.

Nice to see new readers
It is always nice to see new readers, and thanks to all who voted in the poll. Come on folks, don't be afraid to comment. Mrs. PH and I love the feedback.
I'm sitting here "blogging" in Comfilon 849's, a staple of my hoisery wardrobe. Although I prefer more sheer hoisery, the 849's are warm, which is good for wearing under my regular wardrobe in the winter for extra warmth. They are a little more expensive, at $17.99 each in US dollars, but they last much longer than any other brand. They are opaque, and would work well for someone who is concerned about wearing in public under pants, because they would look like regular socks. I have on occasion also worn them under shorts for running or biking in cooler weather, and they look just like any other athletic tights. Oh, and most important (to me) they have a fly. I couldn't give a pair of men's hoisery a higher rating. Bravo Comfilon!

Well as Mrs. PH suggested, I put on my Comfilons, style 549 (I'll discuss those in a future post) and sat down to watch SNL. The skit was on early, and it was a spoof of the Today show from earlier last week when Kathy Lee and Hoda discussed "mantyhose". It was more of a spoof on Kathy and Hoda's characters than the hose. It could have been a whole lot funnier, and it could have been a whole lot more negative towards men who wear, but it wasn't.
That is all for now. I have to get outside and start claening up the snow we got last night. I swear, the only thing that I like about winter is that I can wear pantyhose/tights under my regular clothing for extra warmth.

Mrs. PH deserves props!
Even though the story, on Drudge Retort, ended up being a piece making fun of guys who wear pantyhose, Mrs. PH deserves much props for finding the story. For me, just her interest in the subject matter alone makes me very happy. I truly enjoy talking to her about pantyhose, because I enjoy pantyhose so much. When I first saw her post, I also commented about there supposing to be a skit on Saturday Night Live tonight regarding men's pantyhose. (This was posted on LAUF by pantyhose god, Steve Katz of Comfilon) She asked if I was going to be wearing my "527's" while I watched. I'm impressed that she almost got the numbers right! No, I said, it's 549's I'll be wearing, and watching along with you! We'll see how they make fun of us who like to wear. No worries, I can laugh at myself!
Yes, I think you saw it here first... Drudge post
Just found this, posted there this morning. Although I believe this is different than the actual drudge report, but still...
Love the comments. /sarcasm Yes, admittedly, it did take me a while to come to a level of acceptance and for that I apologise to those of you looking for it to become something more usual.
(OT, I need to get some smileys here.)
Who's going to be the first to respond as one that's a practical wearer? Mr PH is unavailable at the moment, but I'm going to let him know about it.
7:30PM
Nevermind, I'm deleting the link. Since I originally posted the link this afternoon, the comments are just too ugly for me and I'm not going to share the ugliness or allow it to reach here. Thankfully I did not direct hyperlink it. If you want to read it just look up drudge and pantyhose and see what you find. :-(

Based on Mr PH's post from earlier today, I wonder about our (limited) reader base.
Results are confidential, please vote how you honestly view your wearing.
Thank you!!!!

Thank you!!!!
Some may not like this Blog
There may be some readers that may not like where this Blog is going or what the subject matter is. While I agree that pantyhose/tights are and can be a practical piece of a mans wardrobe, I can't help but wonder if those who like to wear are also wearing due to a fetish with hoisery. Fetish, the "F" word. I'm going to come out and say it. Yes I have a pantyhose/tights fetish. But, I also see them as a practical piece of clothing. Can't they be both? What initially drew me to them when I was in puberty, I don't know. But, because of my experiences in puberty, yes I do think that I developed a slight fetish for them. Is that wrong to use the "F" word? I don't think that there is anything wrong with it, as long as it is done appropriatley. And, if the fetish for wearing hoisery blends into wearing them for day to day life, as a practical undergarment, then that will explain why I am so happy to wear them in the wintertime. Can't something that one gets joy out of not only be a toy, but auseful item as well?

No time right now...
..but in the future, as time permits, I'd also like to review tights/pantyhose that I've tried over the years. I'm sure some readers may find this helpful. As always though, your results may vary.
Responding to our first comment
In regards to the last comment about telling your spouse: All I can suggest is to tell your significant other sooner, rather than later. Now that doesn't mean on the first date, but some time early in the relationship. As far as Mrs. PH and I go, we were married for about eight years when I told her. I wanted to tell her many times earlier, but was afraid to. In all fairness, my love for wearing pantyhose grew, as time went on. When we first met, and started dating, I was not into wearing hose. It had been a passing fad, something I would do when masterbating from time to time. Occasionally, I'd get rid of any hose I had, and not do it for a long time. Once we were married, we got the internet, something I didn't have prior to being married. There I began to explore things, and one of them was pantyhose wearing by men. I was very surprised that I was not the only one who wore them! This probably encouraged me, to explore wearing again, and this is when I should have told Mrs. PH. Instead, like lots of men who wear, I hid it. It finaly came up in a discussion about pornography that Mrs. PH found. I then told her that I liked to wear pantyhose. she was shocked. I can only say, that if I had to do it again, I would have told her way earlier.

Apologies new readers
We don't know if anyone has wanted to comment, but we had the settings wrong. If you wanted to and couldn't, you should be able to now. I wish we had realised before going live, as our purpose for doing this was to get feedback. Sorry 'bout that.

Mr. PH respnds
Yes there is a sexual conitation to pantyhose with me. I have found other non-sexual ways to enjoy panthose, as is discussed in the LAUF Forum at Delphi, or is that just me becoming more comfortable with myself and my desires. Years ao, I would wear pantyhose to masterbate, and after I was done I'd take the hose off right away, and feel guilty about it. I don't feel guilty about it any more, and I wish I shared my desire to wear with my wife much earlier.
Is hose wearing a fetish? According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantyhose_fetishism it is.

Mrs. PH chimes in
I don't know where to start. I guess with this... guys, if you do like to wear, please tell your partner straight away rather than waiting for them to find out by accident. It will save a lot of misunderstanding and hurt feelings for both parties.
In our relationship we are dealing with a couple of sides of the wearing issue, one of which I am struggling with.
I get the functional part about it. It is clothing. It's not the norm, but one person's normal is another person's out there. Normal is relative. So I guess what I'm saying is, if you like it, go right ahead. The function isn't hurting anyone, at least in this relationship.
But the sexualised/fetish part I don't get. I understand compared to many, this is tame. However with me there is emotional discomfort attached. I'll start off by saying I am sensory defensive and don't like the feeling of certain clothing, including button down/woven shirts, shoes that tie and boots that go over the calf. I hate having my legs to be touched, even innocent things like a cat rubbing against my legs is uncomfortable to me most of the time. Maybe it goes back to my infancy and being in a body cast because of hip dysplasia. Regardless, I have issues with my legs being touched and pressure on them. Needless to say, these issues would probably not make me a good candiate to explore being a submissive ;-)
Ok, back to the hose. I hate wearing socks too. Right now my feet are freezing, but I would rather have cold toes than wear socks. Just touching hose (and most other silky clothing, like slips) with my hands skeeves me out, therefore wearing them is just wholly unbearable. These sensory issues I have makes me unable to appreciate the appeal of the sexualised side of it. I don't get it and won't pretend I do. And because I sometimes feel like I'm supposed to like it, it can cause me to feel hurt (for lack of a better word), and at the same time frustrates me because I know how much my husband does like it and I can't be supportive or "join in the phun."
I agreed to start this collaboration in hopes of finding others that are in my situation- there seems to be no happy medium out there. Either the information is purely functional with no ability to discuss the fetish side, or it's so over the top fetish/sexualised with pornographic pictures (which is another whole issue) that I am afraid of not getting the answers I want because what I have found seems to be couples that enjoy it together. Where is the PH balance? Yes, I named the blog. I thought of it in the shower. I do some of my best thinking there.
I know I am asking a lot. So guys, if you have a partner that is out there who might be feeling like me, please send them this way.

I guess the first question is why pantyhose? I don't know why, but I do know how. When I was about 4-5 years old, I was in the bathroom early one morning, and tried on a pair of my sisters tights. I liked the feel. Then, when I was in 4th grade, I was in a school play, and had to wear black tights. Both times, I remember liking the feel to the tights.
When I entered puberty, for some reason, I tried on my mothers pantyhose that she had discarded. I loved the feeling. One night while wearing them and rubbing myself, I had my first orgasm. I think this was the start of my obsession with pantyhose.

Hello new readers! This blog is a collaboration between a married couple in their early 40's. We Mr. and Mrs. PH have been married for over 11 years. Mr. PH enjoys wearing pantyhose. Our hope with this blog is to grow closer as a couple by expressing our feelings, and helping others and getting input form others in the process. Mr. PH is thrilled to be able to bring this issue to the forefront and have open discussions with Mrs. PH about pantyhose.
