Are These Comfilon hose/tights?

I found these a while ago, and forgot about them, and thought I'd see if anyone thinks the same as me. These are for sale at Body Aware.com, an online men's underwear store, that has some risque and quite possibly fetishistic underwear. (http://www.bodyaware.com/MI-DG?promod=default&cid=9CE9.0JC2&dtind=40169.6536828009)

I asked SteveKatz a while ago on LAUF if the hose were his brand, but he wouldn't say. One of these days I'm going to order some and see for myself. What do you think?

Here at PH Balanced, we want to wish our readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, thanks for reading this year, who knows what next year will bring!

Retro Men's Legwear

I posted about these a long while ago, and they are antique, so I don't wear them. The other night, I decided to try them out for an extended period of time. They don't fit as well as some other more modern brands, say like the Comfilon's, but for antiques, they did alright!

The end of the year is approaching, and with the holidays, I'm not sure how much I'll be posting, heck it's been almost a month since the last post. I would like to thank all the readers, and encourage feedback, because feedback can lead to more posts

Ela Patrik Tights Review

Well, I received a pair of Ela Patrik tights from Euro Tights to preview. A pair of womens tights was sent for Mrs. PH, however she was not interested in them at all.

When I first took the Patrik tights out of the package, I noticed that they smelled funny. Not funny bad, or funny ha ha, just that they smelled kinda like a cleaner or disinfectant. I washed them, and hung them to dry. Once they were dry, they still had the smell. Was the smell the "antibacterial" treatment? I wore them for a few hours yesterday. They fit well, and appeared to be well made from a fabric that appeared more than sheer hose, but less than tights. They had mild support, not a real tight support. All in all, a nice fitting and well made pair of tights, I only wish that they had a fly. If they did, I would probably buy them, and wear them more often. I just really like having the convenience of a fly in my hosiery.

Comfilon Footless Tights

Comfilon has over the years had a few different manufactures of their footless tights. Although i usually like the footed variety, there are times when in the course of athletic endeavors that I prefer to wear a different sock. Now I tried the old version, the A879. Both times I tried them, they were from a different manufacturer, and both times slightly different. What was similar, was that both versions of the A879, had a brief portion that was made of a different, and weaker material. Both times the brief ran after only a few wearings. I liked the support legs on both old versions, and noticed that wearing them during or after a very long run would help my legs feel better. When Comfilon came out with the new A876 as pictured above, I wanted to try them, but I was concerned about the brief. The Comfilon website touted the new manufacturer, and the tights sturdy stretch fabric. I decided to give the new footless tights, with a fly a chance.

I got my order in last week, and haven't had a chance to try them out until today. I did notice at first glance, that the brief and leg portion were made of the same material. This, I'm sure will correct the "wimpy brief problem" that I had with older versions. Yesterday I went on a really long run. I tried them this morning. My legs felt great. I was doing some cleaning around the house, and the support definitely helped my sore legs. I took them off to do some wok that may have been "hosiery dangerous" and then left them off. My legs started to get a little sore, so I donned them again. Problem solved.

The Comfilon 876's are just what I wanted. They are the same fabric all around, so you could wear them over say bicycle shorts, and they would not look funny as older versions have.

I also noticed that my other favorite athletic wear company Under Armour has come out with a compression tight aimed at recovering athletes. Called Under Armour Recharge, their recovery tights run $89 a pair. With the Comfilon A876's being $20, I know what I'll be wearing to recharge!

New Mens Pantyhose Retailer

There is a new kid on the block, carrying a new line of men's tights/sheer hose, I give to you Euro Tights. http://eurotights.eu/

Euro Tights is out of Latvia, and they carry a new line of Czech tights called Ela

The Ela tights come in three varieties, Sheer 20 Denier "David", a support tight, 40 Denier "Patrik" and a heavier tight for cooler weather, 64 Denier "Adam"

I have been in contact with the owner, as he did what I was thinking of doing earlier this year, selling the Doyeah tights on ebay. I got to admit, the owner of Euro Tights did much more than I would have with his website. I wish him the best of luck, and encourage our readers to pay his site a visit.

I really like this time of year

It is a great time of the year for wearing sheers under my pants, not too warm, and not too cool. There is a very short window for it for me, in the early fall, and late spring. I have come to the conclusion that the Comfilon 549's are my favorite sheer hosiery. Not much more to say tonight.

More New Doyeah

It appears that Doyeah has some more new tights, this time it appears as if they have a footless version of their opaque tights with a fly. Bravo Doyeah for expanding the men's hosiery line!

A Longtime Reader Published

I know that it has been a long time since I've written, but I kinda had writers block. The weather has been cooler, so I've been wearing tights or pantyhose under my regular male clothing for warmth. I've been experimenting with the different kinds of men's hosiery I have, and have come to the conclusion that my favorites are the Comfilon 849's for tights, and the 549's for sheer hose.

The reason I was inspired to write today, is that I was contacted by a long time reader to let me know that he has published stories of his adventures wearing hosiery. They can be found here:

http://stores.lulu.com/eugenetswong

I also wanted to congratulate the readers for making our blog hit over 10,000 readers. As is always keep reading, and more importantly, keep leaving comments!

Tights on the local weather

I was surprised today to be watching the local news, and to see a picture of a man in tights! The weather guy posted a picture of he and his son hiking a mountain, and showed that it snowed. His son appears to be wearing athletic tights (though I may be wrong) under his shorts. I love the look, and hope that it catches on. I was going to post it at LAUF, but wanted you our readers to see it here first. Enjoy!

More New Doyeah Products

A new product is available at doyeah.com, this one is translated as "Fine-structure Mesh Trousers" Although they have a sheer appearance, they appear fitted, rather than the tight feeling of tights or hose. I haven't been able to find anything similar on ebay, to see if it has a fly or not.

I haven't had a chance to wear the opaque Doyeah tights again, but the last time I did, I noticed that they fly was rather wide, and fell right on my "junk", so it felt as if I was falling out . I think I may have remedied this by putting in a couple of stitches to make the fly narrower. I used the Comfilon tights as a guide, the Doyeah Opaques were an inch and a half wider! This is kinda funny, because the Doyeah sheers have a much narrower fly. I tried them on and it seems like it may work. Only time will tell.

Doyeah Sheer Tights Test

Well it is a little cool tonight, so for the first time this fall, I decided to wear the sheer Doyeah tights to work. I will say that they glide very well under pants. The fly opening is a bit small, but it works. The fit is tight. At 5'11", and give or take a pound or two I'm running about 175, these tights don't leave too much room for wiggle. It is supposed to be cool again tomorrow. I will either wear a pair of Comfilon 549's to compare, or if it's cool enough, maybe the Doyeah opaque tights. Stay tuned.

An Example of Wearing Hosiery in Public

A reader suggested that a post be written about this example of a man wearing hosiery with a business suit. Do you think this look will ever catch on? More photos in this set by the "Hosiery Advocate" may be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/23958111@N00/sets/72157622262659084/ I think it is a smart tasteful look!

Another Quick Doyeah update

These tights are amazingly comfortable! I got the black ones. They appear to have a high spandex content. I tried them on again today, and I was blown away. Kudos to Doyeah! I also tried on the sheers and the crotchless. Apparently the crotchless is higher on one side, and lower on the other. Not sure what is supposed to be the back or front! I guess it depends on your preference. I look forward to trying all out in a full day's wearing, but that will have to wait until the weather gets cooler.

Over 8000 views since this blogs inception. Keep up the good work readers, and we encourage comments, they only lead to more discussions.

Doyeah Tights Arrive

I bit the bullet, and ordered a pair of each style of the Doyeah line from Luxelegwear. Here's my impressions.

Doyeah 10 denier sheer to waist: I took them out of the package, and held them up to my legs. they appeared to be long enough. I washed all of them, and when they dried, I tried them on. If I was any taller,(5'11") these would not be long enough. The fly is very narrow, but will probably do the job. A longer wear will give a better impression.

Doyeah 80 denier opaques: I took them out of the package, and held them up. Boy, they better stretch. After washing and drying, I tried them on. Wow, these fit great, and feel great. They remind me of the Comfilon 849's. sorry Steve, I think I may buy more of these when the 849's I have start to wear out. A longer wear will tell more.

Doyeah footless/crotchless: They looked small out of the package. After washing and drying, I tried them on. The fit OK, and the "crotchless" portion lines up with, well what you'd want it to. the verdict is still out on these too. With all, a longer wear time will tell more.

New Open Crotch Doyeah Hose Available at Luxelegwear.com

You may recall a few posts ago that after finding Doyeah's new crotchless hose on ebay, I emailed Deb at Luxelegwear to see if she would be carrying it. I am happy to announce that she now has them up on the website:
The quote on the footless hose is as follows, "By popular demand, Luxelegwear.com is excited to finally have available Doyeah's Open Crotch Ankle Tights. It combines the cool trend of footless legwear with the sex appeal of an open crotch.

Everyone loves the sheer to waist design allowing you to wear this with anything. " Am I popular demand?

The quote on the footless variety states, "The NEW open crotch pantyhose from Doyeah is just amazing. Its' open crotch feature allows skin area to breathe and offers anti-bacterial protection.

It is sheer through body and has a sandal toe. " Anti-bacterial, OK I buy it!

I find it interesting that the footless version is $12.99, and the footed one is $11.99. What is even more interesting is the regular Doyeah men's hose with a fly is $10.49. I guess in the world of oriental pantyhose, more hose is less money!

Just a quick image

Just a quick post, an image I found while looking for new material for the blog, looks similar to the Man-T-Hose, an adult novelty that has been recreated by the Chinese in the Doyeah "Cool Trunk Tights"

Still waiting for Luxelegwear

I'm still eagerly awaiting Luxelegwear.com to start carrying the new Doyeah footless sheer tights.

I just wish they were not crotchless! I want to see them on the site, because, first, I want to order some, and second, Debbie, the owner, was informed by me of these tights.

I am pleased so far with my purchase several months ago of the Doyeah Cool Trunk Tights. They have held up so well, that I'd like to try out their other products as well, especially those with a fly. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm a sucker for hose with a fly!

It's Been a Long Time..

..Since I Rock n Roll... I've been meaning to post but have been so friggin busy! One of my past times, is playing guitar hero. The last time I played, I noticed one of the characters in the band appeared to have on black tights and camo shorts. Today when playing "Metallica Guitar Hero", I created a character to match the one that was in a band in the game.
I thought it was neat, to have a character with camo shorts and tights. His pants are actually called, " bandolero camos" I thought it was cool to have an option in Guitar Hero for your "rocker" to be wearing shorts and tights.

On another note, I contacted Luxelegwear.com, and asked if they would be carrying the new Doyeah footless hose that I posted about in my last post. Deb from Luxe Legwear said that she wasn't aware of them, but would be getting some, and they will be ready to order next week! I'm glad I could help those of use out who may be interested in this product!

More new hosiery from Doyeah

I know I haven't been posting much but to be honest, there has not been much going on in the world of mens pantyhose. It has been too warm to wear hose (although it has been cool) and I kinda fell into a pantyhose slump. That was until I discovered another new Doyeah product. I first found them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/tights-for-men-open-crotch-ankle-tights-sheer-to-waist_W0QQitemZ170355807310QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27a9ff544e&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 I then found them on http://tights-for-men.com/ Now I don't know why I'm promoting legwear 4 men.com because I joined his blog and he blocked us.....apparently our blog was too much for him. I don't think I'd be interested in a crotchless pair of hose...but you never know! It is just nice to see a new mens hosiery product, and nice to have something to talk about with our readers. I'll try to be better about blogging for you!

It's been a wHile..

I'm fighting to stay awake. I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I've been busy and had nothing really to talk about. I want to keep the blog alive, so I went searching for material. I found some so to speak....

http://cgi.ebay.com/Penis-Sleeve-Gag-Gift-WHACKSOCK-6-Pack-Bachelorette_W0QQitemZ320388676128QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4a98a73a20&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Kind of an interesting idea. The website has little info. I actually found this on ebay. Another website describes them as little cotton tube socks. How about another variety made from nylons? I'd use them, would you??

Disapointing ebay purchase

A couple of posts ago, I posted an ebay find, a closed sleeve that was supposed to fit like a condom. Well I couldn't resist, and bid on a pair.

The "sleeve" looked a bit small, but I figured that it would stretch. When I tried the hose on, the sleeve was way too small, and I'm an average size guy. The fit of the hose in general was fine, and the placement of the sleeve was right on, just not big enough. I guess I'll have to stick with the Doyeah Cool Trunk for the sleeve look/feel.

For the wives

A lot of what has been written, has been written by Mr. PH. Mrs. PH has not contributed much as of late, because there has not been much female input. I hope that is to change due to a recent reply, and post on LAUF. Please, ladies, and wives of men who wear, ask questions, post replies, we want to hear from you!

I can't post without putting in some graphics. How about another cartoon?

More Pantyhose in Art

I found another example of pantyhose in art. Yet another piece of performance art by
Pia Dehne, a recreation of the "I want to ride my bicycle" video. As you can see, the girls are wearing pantyhose and pantyhose like tops to make it appear as if they were nude, as in the Queen video. Quite a contrast from the last piece of pantyhose performance art in which the models were nude, with just pantyhose.

More new mens hosiery from China

While searching ebay, I came across some new mens Chinese hosiery. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260420245256

The auction has a very graphic picture of what the hose looks on a male model. This hose looks just like the Doyeah Cool Trunk tights, except the "trunk" portion is closed. Very similar to the old "Man-t-Hose".
I have had good luck so far with the pair of Doyeah Cool Trunk tights I have. Several wearings and washings, and no runs. I think in the fall, I will try a pair each of the their tights and hose with a fly.

Old School Hosiery

While looking for more images for our readers, I came across this L'eggs predecessor. Here's the description from http://www.alleewillis.com/blog/ "Pre-pantyhose nylons are alive and well inside this L’Eggs predecessor made by Modernage Hosiery in the 50’s. Open with a sardine key and pop on for fresh smelling appendages."

I'm glad to see that they are sealed tight. There is nothing better than fresh smelling nylons!

Is it Porn or Art?

The other day, I was searching for new material for our blog, and I entered the term "pantyhose art" to see if I could find some artistic displays of pantyhose, or some new clip art in which to post. I always like to post a picture or video with new entries. I just feel it adds to the quality of the entry.

Most of the search results, were of course, pornographic. I then came across a performance artist, Vanessa Beecroft. http://www.vanessabeecroft.com/

She directed a performance, entitled VB55 at Berlin's National Art Gallery (story here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2005/apr/11/art.germany) In the performance, she had about 100 women standing still in the gallery, just wearing nude sheer to waist pantyhose.

First, I can't believe that I didn't find this earlier! Secondly, I am happy to see that it is considered art. It is definitely art that pushes the limit, but it is still considered art. A supreme Court Justice once said something to the effect of, I can't define pornography, or what it obscene, but I can tell you when I see it.

What I wonder is what kind the reaction would be, or if you could even get 100 men to do the same piece of performance art!

I am advancing in my techno knowledge. Here is a video from You Tube about the performance. It must be art and not porn, because they show it all in this video!

Just when you thought all the new mens hosiery ideas were coming from China..

I was going to post earlier today about a couple of new types of men's hosiery from China, that I found on ebay. Before I got a chance to, I found that Comfilon has announced two new styles of tights. Both, have a fly. I personally find the fly feature that I almost demand in my legwear. Without going into great detail, there are times when I can not easily undo my belt to use the bathroom for a pee break. With a fly, there is no problems. Enough potty talk, lets see those new tights:

They are base on the old 879's, which were Comfilon's only footless tights. The fly is supposed to be the same as the 849/549 design. I guess the difference between 849 and the new 866 is the full support, versus the light support.

I'd like to say that you heard it here first, but I did find this on LAUF. I found it important enough to make mention of it here, since we were just talking about new types of hosiery from the East.

New pantyhose from Taiwan; Thanks for reading

First off, we'd like to thank our readers. As you can see, our counter has recorded over 5,000 hits!

I like to look for interesting pantyhose facts, websites, or products and let our readers know about them. I also don't like to duplicate what I see in other blogs, or in the LAUF Forum.

Yesterday while searching, I found a new type of pantyhose made in Taiwan. Here's the description, "It is our pleasure to announce that we are manufacturer & exporter of pantyhose in Taiwan and are available to supply the innovative design pantyhose which have 200% super elastic & ventilative pantyfork. (please see the attached pictures) The features of our pantyhose are as below; 1. With 200% super elastic pantyfork, you may always make yourself at home by wearing it. 2. With leading edge net fabrication, its ventilation nature may automatically alleviate the excess steam out of your body and make you feel healthy and comfortable. 3. Its innovative design compounding automatic machine fabrication can improve the defects of ripping off, displacement, stretching taut, and slipping down occurring in the pantyhose without pantyfork. 4. The key parts of the pantyhose are processed with antibiotic treatment to protect you from germ infection. 5. With super elastic pantyfork, the pantyhose can be flexibly expanded to fit you in every way. By using classy and full elastic fabric for the pantyfork, its delicate fibers extend very a good tactile feeling for you."

I believe that the translation may have been a bit off, any how here's the accompanying picture:
I love the description, " You will always be at home by wearing it!" And it is always important to "alleviate the excess steam out of your body!" Ha!

Here's the "American Dad" video

Here's the "American Dad" video clip. I laughed my ass off! I love the way Roger cracks open the Legg's egg. Thank you You Tube!

Roger wearing pantyhose on "American Dad" last night

This is not a picture from last nights episode, titled "Stan's Night Out" Season 4, episode 20. In the episode, Roger the alien, shown above left, is in competition with Hayley (not shown) to see who is more attractive. Roger "cracks open" a Legg's plastic egg and dons pantyhose before heading out on a date. I laughed my ass off. You can watch the episode online on Fox. If I find the picture or an easier video link, I will post it.

Mr PH asked that I share this painting...

That I just showed him. It was one I saw when I was in London in February at the National Gallery there. I'm not hyperlinking the picture, so you will have to go to the site itself. We were not allowed to take photographs there.

http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/cgi-bin/WebObjects.dll/CollectionPublisher.woa/wa/work?workNumber=NG1909

I showed it to him as we were having a discussion about the painting of the Crucifixion he posted, and how the clothing would have been historically inaccurate, but rather reflected the period of time the artist rendered the painting. The Execution of Lady Jane Grey is also like that. Not that Mr PH really cares about that, he just thought it was cool with the guy in hose.

I know there were other paintings I saw at the London Gallery with dudes in tights, but the Lady Jane one really stood out for me, her gown was exquisite, the entire piece is, in my opinion. The following day I was at the Tower of London and learning more about her execution, and that really left a lasting impression.

Men in tights in paintings

I recently went to Washington DC, and had a couple of hours to spare. I was walking by the National Gallery of Art , and decided to walk in. While looking at some of the paintings, I saw men in tights. Armed with only my cell phone camera (and because it was permitted) I took pictures for our readers:

I did not try to capture the whole painting, but rather, tried to capture the depiction of the Romans wearing tights. At least that is what it looked like to me, especially the man furthest to the right.

This was the second one I saw. Not sure if he is wearing tights, or just very long socks. There were probably more that I missed, there was just so much to see. As for real live men wearing hosiery, I only saw one, and he probably wouldn't qualify. A bike messenger wearing athletic tights, under shorts.

New Product Idea

I was thinking the other day while biking. Wouldn't it be nice to have an extra layer for your legs, to slip on if it got cool, that would be easy to pack. I was thinking of pantyhose, of course. But, I thought, wouldn't it also be nice to be able to slide them over your bike shorts, and then have the appearance of not having on an extra layer? The only way you could do that is to have something kinda like the old "Underalls" A different colored brief portion, with tan legs. I put something together to illustrate my idea:
I did this by putting a pair of regular hose through a pair of Comfilon A323 Sheer Briefs, just to illustrate my idea. My thought was, one could slide on and off the extra layer as needed, and wear it while giving the illusion of still having bare legs. Good idea or not?

JT in Tights Part 1

Saturday Night Live _ Give it on up to Homelessville

Here's the first time JT went on SNL wearing white tights. Again, the video in the blog doesn't work, but the link does!

JT in tights again!

Saturday Night Live _ Surgery Center

Well the video doesn't work here in the blog, but the above link will work. Mrs. PH's favorite SNL host/guest was the host last night. It seems that often, he is on SNL wearing tights. We saw him dancing with Beyonce in "Put a Ring on it" wearing hosiery. We saw him a while back doing a skit similar to this one wearing white tights. Yet again JT (Justin Timberlake) is wearing white tights. You go JT!

Sneaking this in for Mr PH and others

http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=7541126&page=1

This quote stuck out at me- because I'm not a hose lover. I think I've always been upfront about that here, so this should come as no surprise.

We don't want to be told what to wear, so we make our own guidelines.

And in the days that I had to wear business attire to work, and the unspoken rule that hose was necessary. I was resentful of the requirement. I often wore pantsuits, occasionally skirts. And the day that business casual was adopted, I celebrated. Probably to the dismay of Mr PH.

But now at work I can wear pretty much whatever I want and honestly, if I did show dressed up people would certainly notice because the nature of my work requires more rugged clothing. Hose would get wrecked in no time. I don't miss the corporate world one bit.

What do you do with your damaged hose?

What to do with old hose with a run? Ehow.com has several uses, one of them is to make a Frisbee. http://www.ehow.com/how_4479177_frisbee-out-recycled-pantyhose.html

I'm just not that "crafty". I did read some where, that if you have a leg with a run, cut that leg off. Take another pair with a run in the opposite leg, and cut that leg off. Then, pull on both pairs, so that you have two good legs. I tried it with some old Comfilon 549's, and it does work, but all I did was try it. I didn't wear them for an extended period of time. I have also tried cutting off say the foot portion, if it was damaged, and then wearing a knee high of the same brand/color. I wasn't too impressed with that, and it would look kinda weird. I have also tried just cutting off the foot portion if the foot was damaged, and wearing regular socks. this didn't work, because the hose would roll up. does anyone else have any good tips or ideas for damaged hose?

Keeping up on a blog can be tough

It is sometimes hard to find new material to write about. I don't want to write the same thing day after day, nor do I want to write about topics that have recently been discussed in other blogs.

One of my "sources" for information, is ebay. What people are buying and selling when it comes to male pantyhose can be better than checking the news or other forums and blogs. I enter different search titles, and get different results. Today, I searched "pantyhose man" and then searched under title and description, and came up with this movie:

The description of the movie on the ebay listing is as follows: "Pantyhose Hero has caused quite a stir since its first release with many believing it to be homophobic and extremely distasteful. While I understand their reasons, I am of the opinion that this is a great kung fu comedy, which is admittedly not politically correct! Sammo and Alan are cops assigned to a murder case in which the killer is apparently targeting homosexuals. As a result, the 2 cops are 'trained' to act like Gay men in order to lure the assailant into their trap. What follows is a hilarious set of comedy sketches coupled with its fair share of bloody encounters. The finale in particular is extremely violent as well as being expertly crafted."

The movie was released in 1990. I'm sure I could have a lot to write about if I bid on it, but I don't feel like watching a movie with subtitles. If anyone has seen the movie, I'd love to hear your review.

How Pantyhose Are Made

Pantyhose
Video sent by ubergoober

Just in case you've ever wondered, here is a video that shows how they are made. I was surprised how many they make each day, over 180,000!

Pantyhose tug of war?

And now for something completely different...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba8OGkwgPOc

Apparently the Japanese have a pantyhose over the head game to!

Now does that look fun or what!

Pantyhose make you look younger

Two weeks ago, I posted about wearing pantyhose home from the dentist. Well it seems that the dentist had more work to do the other day. It was much warmer, so I wore cargo shorts and a t-shirt. I took a cheap pair of No-Nonsense tan hose with me. After my appointment, I had a couple of errands to run. I went into a bathroom at Wal Mart, and put the hose on, and completed my errands. On the way home, I stopped for gas. There was a liquor store there, so I stopped in for a bottle. Now, I am way over 21. The clerk carded me! I'm sure it was because of my very casual dress. But maybe the hose helped me look younger!

I would have posted this yesterday, but "Dancing with the Stars" trumped it!

Men in tights on "Dancing with the Stars"

I was hoping to find a video or picture to post, but I guess it is too early. Mrs. PH was watching "Dancing with the Stars" as I was prepping something to eat. I guess they were doing a group dance type thing and they were dancing to "Single Ladies" In the dance the men pulled off their pants to reveal leotards and white tights! The audience went wild!

Very nice to see that we've crested 4K visits, read and comment often!

Nothing new in the world of Pantyhose

I've been meaning to write, but nothing has been coming to me to write. The weather has finally warmed up, so I think it will be months before I wear hose or tights under my pants to work.

In the warmer weather, I wear the Comfilon A149 Sheer socks or the A409 Opaque socks. It still gives my feet the feel of hose, but they are not as warm as wearing full length pantyhose. Warmer weather is good for wearing hose and shorts though!

Looks like we are coming up on 4K views. Bravo readers, thanks for reading!

Running tights with sheer panels

I went to a fitness expo yesterday, and came home with some hand outs. In one of them, I noticed that CW-X has running tights with sheer panels to cool the runner down!

http://www.cw-x.com/ExploreProducts.aspx?gender=mens&product=tights&by=collection&sub=ventilator

I wish I knew about these, I would have inspected them at the show. The price is a bit steep, at just under $100 a pair for retail, they are a little out of my price range. I will have to keep watch for them on ebay, or at a discount price. As you can see, they have sheer panels on the thigh and back of the calf, that is supposed to cool the runner down. I just find it a step forward towards sheer legwear for men being more acceptable. If I really had balls, though, I'd just run wearing pantyhose and shorts!

Perfect time of the year to wear

Early spring is the perfect time of year to wear pantyhose and shorts. The weather here is sill cool, in the 50's and low 60's. The other day, I wore Comfilon 549's under my pants to the dentist. Now, these aren't regular pants. They are convertible, meaning that you can zip off the legs and make them into shorts. On the way home, I zipped off the legs, and rode home in shorts and hose. Later in the day, I did some light yard work in hose and shorts.

If you haven't tried convertible pants, they are great for wearing hose with. If you are brave, and want o venture out in hose and shorts, you can, and if you want to cover up, all you have to do is zip on your legs. Perfect for trying out wearing shorts and hose.

Cheap Department Store Pantyhose

Another staple of my pantyhose collection. No Nonsense hose can be bought in a 4 pack at Wal Mart for less than $5. They may not last long, but at less than $2 a pair, I wouldn't bitch if I put a run in one of them. These are my "work horse" hose. I may wear them around the house, or out and about, when I don't care if I have a fly. I do love the fly in the Comfilon and other hose specifically designed for men, but you do pay for that fly. The NN STW in tan also matches my leg color perfectly. I think I need to pick up another 4 pack...

No sun spots means cooler temperatures

That means that the hosiery wearing season will be extended! I heard this on the news earlier tonight, we are at a state of low solar activity, which means less of the suns energy reaching us, therefore lower temps!

I was pissed the other night. I had on a new pair of Comfilon 549's. I wore them to work, and after quite a few hours, I felt as if they were sagging in the legs. I made the mistake of trying to pull them up, then I felt it.....a friggin' run in brand new hose!
This is the thing I hate most about hosiery. I know that it is the nature of the beast, but it sucks to ruin a brand new pair, especially the Comfilon 549's. The pair I ruined, I got in trade, so it cost me nothing, and I was able to "glue" it to prevent a spead. Most people use nail polish. I use New-Skin, a liquid bandage, esentially the same thing.

This is a post about nothing

Hey If Jerry Seinfeld can do a show about nothing why can't I do a post about nothing! I have scoured the web for ides and there have been no new news stories about men's pantyhose, unless you count the news stories about men robbing stores while wearing pantyhose on their face. Maybe they should try wearing them on their legs, and they would have more luck!

I have noticed an ebay seller took my idea, and is selling the Doyeah hose. I hope they do well with my idea, hell maybe they got the idea here!

If you are interested one of the first pantyhose for men is for sale on ebay here:

Although they were sold as joke in the 70's and 80's, maybe they got some men interested in wearing hose. I have 2 pair. One, still new in the box, wrapped up in the original cellophane, and one which I have worn to the point that it is time to retire it. They are a hair too short for me, and made of 100% nylon. They did wear pretty well however. Not really practical but a fun product, and part of my collection of mens specific hosiery.

"I felt sexy in the pantyhose. I'm not afraid to say that."

A quote from Justin Timberlake on the SNL Parody with Beyonce.

That's all for now!

Time is almost up

It's almost time to retire the hose and tights for the warmer weather. I still wear them on occasion when it's warmer, but not under my work clothing. It just is too warm in the spring and summer.

Tonight, I almost didn't wear legwear under my regular clothing. I looked a the extended forecast, and saw that it would be cooler, and I did wear my A549's from Comfilon. The 549's do have to be my favorite hose. I remember when I first read about them in some type of men's magazine years ago. Before reading the short article, I never knew that there was a thing as men's pantyhose.

A second place prize goes to athletic spandex tights and shorts. I enjoy the feel of them, as they do feel a bit like hosiery, just with out the feet. It is also OK to wear them. If you are running or cycling, no one think differently if you are wearing "tights" Why does putting feet on them make then so different?

Speaking of which, I bought a pair of men's 3/4 running tights (knickers). If you remember, I was going to buy a case of Doyeah Cool Trunk tight, but chose to buy these running tights instead. I am so glad I did buy the running tights. They fit great, and work well when it i still a little cool out. I like having my knees covered when it is cooler out, they tend to ache less when covered. These 3/4 length tights did the trick.

When I first started cycling, I found it necessary to wear padded spandex shorts to help my ass from being sore from the seat. I never imagined wearing the spandex shorts alone without another pair of shorts over them. When I first did it, it seemed so wrong, but felt so good. It felt like I was just wearing my underwear. And, of course, the spandex also feel a bit like hosiery

Another link for our readers

While surfing, I found an old link of stories of men wearing hosiery:

http://mensinsite.tripod.com/stories.htm

I haven't had a chance to read them all, and those I did read, I think I was half asleep and can't tell you what I read. An oldie but goodie.

I've been to busy to write

As of late, I've been real busy. I'm still checking in, I just haven't had time to write. It seems that men's pantyhose in the news has slowed down. For some reason, the past week or so, the
LAUF has also slowed down.

I will keep up the good fight, however, searching for news reports, and new products. I'd love for our readers to hear it first here!

Do you ever look at the Urban Dictionary? "Mantyhose" has made it there:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mantyhose

I especially like the use in a sentence, "My husbands manthose is WAY more expensive than my pantyhose"

If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at. A man who can laugh a himself will always be amused.

I'm going to hold off on ordering a case

I was all set to order a dozen of Dohyea Cool Trunk tights straight from China. I had plans to keep half, and try to sell half on ebay in order to try to make some of my money back. I probably could have pulled it off, but maybe instead, I'll place an order at a later date, once I see how these hose hold up. I may also try some of their other styles as well, instead of just the cool trunks. I will say, that if you are interested in any Doyeah products, you can order through them direct, and their prices, even with shipping are WAY cheaper than any of the other online retailers.

I am holding off for a couple of other reasons. First, I want to get a new pair of 3/4 length running tights for an up coming race. If the weather is cooler, I like the support and having my knees covered when running. I think that it more important right now. I also, thanks to a LAUF friend, have several pairs of Comfilon 549's . It's funny how some pairs seem to last forever without running, and some run right away. Today I'm wearing a pair, that I opened last year, and they have no runs in the legs.

No new news on the men's pantyhose front. I scan the internet almost daily, looking for new stories, products etc. I want to know, and I want to keep you our faithful readers informed!

I really like wearing pantyhose. I love the way they feel on my legs, and I really like that I can wear them in font of Mrs. PH, and that we are talking more about them.

Shout out to female readers

Do we have any female readers? Mrs. PH and I started this blog with hopes of getting some feedback from females, specifically, spouses of men who wear. If this is you, please don't be afraid to contact us by leaving a comment, or emailing us at phbalancedblog@gmail.com

I have had a chance to wear the Cool Trunk tights a couple of more times. The more I wear them, the more I like them. The trunk provides support, as well as giving a "free balling" feeling. It kinda feels like going commando.

I like them so much, I contacted Doyeah to see about buying them in bulk. I was actually thinking of selling them on ebay, but Mrs. PH said it probably wouldn't be worth the effort. I believe that she could be right. I'm still going to look into getting a case of them, and see what the actual price after shipping is. I may throw a couple up on ebay just to see what the market is. There were some Doyeah's for sale on ebay, but the auction went away. The only ones I could find were these:

Now that's price gouging!

So that's what it's like to have foreskin!

I bet that title caught your attention! If I had to describe them in one quick phrase, that would be it! I had a little more time today, and again tried on the Doyeah Cool Trunk tights. Maybe because I took a little more time this time, I did find that they fit better. I may be used to a higher waist, and that is why the waist felt kinda low when I tried them on the other day. I read that these are exactly the same as the Doyeah men's hose with a fly, except they have a trunk instead of the fly. After wearing them for a little bit, I did find the fit comfortable. Not sure how practical the trunk would be, but, the fit from the legs to the trunk, for me was perfect. The hose have a sheen and thus probably a high glide factor under pants. After a second wearing, I like them much more, and would consider buying them or the ones with a fly in the future.

By the way, I found someone selling the fly type on ebay last night. http://cgi.ebay.com/MACHO-MAN-ULTRA-SHEER-BLACK-10-DEN-NYLON-PANTYHOSE_W0QQitemZ220375894360QQihZ012QQcategoryZ37570QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Interesting name, and wow they are price gouging! I had to watch the auction to see if anyone buys these for that price.

There was another article today about mantyhose. http://www.philly.com/dailynews/features/20090311_Jenice_Armstrong__Mantyhose__A_new_trend_.html

With all the articles about mens hosiery, and them all calling mens hosiery "Mantyhose" I wonder if actually creating a brand of mens hosiery called "Mantyhose" would sell? I know there's been a lot of free advertising about it!

Quick Shipping by Luxelegwear

I was surprised when I got home today to find my shipment from Luxelegwear was already in! I ordered it on Friday, and Monday it arrived!

I washed the Cool Trunk hose and the boxer briefs, and later tried them on.
As you can see the color is tan. They have a little sheen, but not too much. I am 5'11'', and about 175. The hose just fit me, maybe a bit too short in the waist, but that may just be a matter of personal preference. The "trunk" portion seemed to fit well. As I said in an earlier post, I do have man-t-hose. They don't fit me well, maybe a shorter man they would. The third leg in man-t-hose are just like that, a third leg. The "trunk" fits better. Time will tell how I like these. As I said, all I did was try them on and take them off.

I was less impressed with the boxer briefs. In the pictures, they looked to be made out of the same material as pantyhose, and tan or beige. In reality, they appear to be a pinkish yellow. They are also made out of a slightly see through spandex type material.

Luxelegwear was a pleasure to deal with. Their shipping was super fast, and Deb from Luxe sent a thank you note with the order. I would definitely recommend buying form them.

Now Mrs. PH was less impressed with each of them. she said that she felt the Comfilon's were better, when she saw a snag in the Cool Trunk hose. I would agree that they are a better fit and more practical.
