Did you get tights for Valentine's Day? Alas, I did not. My wife and I have a love/hate relationship with hosiery. I love them, and she hates them. Every holiday that rolls around, I secretly hope to get some tights as a gift from her.
Speaking of tights, I've been thinking about the definition. Wikipedia's article on tights says that in America, tights are anything over 40 Denier, while Pantyhose are those that are below 40 denier. In the UK they are all called tights. I like the word tights when referring to men's wear. It sounds more uni-sex.
It has been warming up here in New England. I went for a run on Valentine's Day while wearing Comfilon footless tights and shorts. If it warms up enough the end of the week, maybe I will run in sheer tights (aka pantyhose) and shorts!
Until next time, stay hosed and stay happy.
Over here in the UK the word "tights" makes it all very easy...
ReplyDeleteThe word tights is a very universal unisex word..
I feel the word "panty" in the word pantyhose does not help in making them unisex...
Panties in the UK are called Knickers.. Lucky we did not have the word Knickerhose....
Yes Sheer tights are perfect for running and other sports

Personally i am a no fly.. Sheer to waist person....
Pantyhose wearing can get quite expensive..Especially if you wear them seven days a week..
The No Nonsense sheer to waist 100% nylon pantyhose sound like a good everyday pantyhose...
I would like to add to the comments about what to wear on iMiTD...
I say wear whatever pantyhose you want to wear..Wearing pantyhose is a very personal thing.. It is down to how you feel at the time..
Personally i feel you do not have to wear loud pantyhose to get the point across...
