Welcome to the international Men in Tights Day blog! I was going to debut it on 1/1/11, but due to my work schedule, I wanted to give myself a little more time to design the site.

Here I will attempt to promote men wearing tights, be they sheer or opaque. November 1st has been the day set for us to celebrate men wearing tights. Please join me in helping to promote men wearing tights!

Need an Excuse to Wear Tights?

I was watching "A Year Without a Santa Claus" yesterday and noticed that both Snow Miser and Heat Miser both appeared to be wearing sparkley tights. I could not find a picture of the duo to show their tights, so instead I give you two guys that found a good excuse to wear tights! I wonder if they were wearing them on November 1, international Men in Tights Day?

iMiTD Blog to Deput Soon

For those who have not gone over to the iMiTD Blog page, here is a preview of the background of the main page. It is a picture I took of Times Square this past September when I visited New York. The original iMiTD page had a Times Square background, and I wanted to model it after the original.

I was not sure what to do with this Blog once iMiTD becomes active on 1/1/11. I am thinking that I will just have the last post on PH Balanced refer readers to iMiTD Blog.

I'm also still trying to figure out what I should do for iMiTD 2011. It would be great for a bunch of men in tights to congregate somewhere to celebrate the day, but alas I fear that we are too spread out. Would anyone have an interest in meeting somewhere in the greater New England area with me?

Two short weeks will see the end of this blog, and the start of iMiTD. I hope to see you all over there on 2011!

This Blog Will be Winding Down

In just a few short weeks, I will no longer post on this blog. If I can figure out how, I will have this blog re-direct you to my new blog, iMiTD . Want a sneak peek, just click on the link.

I'm planning on changing up the main theme to try to promote iMiTD. The original founder has been in touch with me just once, and has expressed an interest in promoting iMiTD for 2011. I will also continue to scour the internet for mens hosiery related products or happenings, and post them on iMiTD as well.

I found these the other day while surfing the net. At first, I thought that they were real. I began searching the net to find out more about them. Then after closely examining the package, I found that they were a parody:
I was wondering about the hairy leg look on the hairy touch, but at first just thought it was a new fad. Someone did a lot of work to make the Hairy Touch hosiery parody. Kudos to that person, you fooled me.

Happiness is a New Pair of 849's

Yesterday, I got in some new Comfilon 849 tights. I have several old pairs that I wear in the winter under my regular male clothing for warmth. They wear well as far as durability goes, but I have a few that have small holes in the crotch area. I am wearing a new pair today and love the feeling.

Even More New Doyeah Hose!

I checked the Doyeah site again, and found two more new styles of men's pantyhose: One with a "Long Long Trunk", and one crotchless. Again, I like their styles, but wish they were a little bigger. Kudos to Doyeah for expanding the men's pantyhose market yet again.

More New Doyeah Hose!

"Full Sheer Long Long Trunk Legging" is what they are called. I had originally posted a picture of the trunk portion, but decided to post the picture of the package (no pun intended) instead. I like the sheer legging, and I like the trunk, but I think I'd prefer a regular front or one with a fly instead of the "third leg". If you wish to see more Doyeah pictures, click the Doyeah link to the right. it will take you to their site, which is in Chinese. Doyeah also had another sheer legging that was crotchless.

I like Doyeah's product ideas, but being one size fits all, they tend to run a little small on me. Their "Cool Trunk Tights" are "cool" for "fun" but probably not for every day wear.

Hot Sox

I found these today at a local discount store, Ocean State Job Lot, for $1.50 each! Now, I'm an advocate of mens hosiery, but at a buck and a half, how can you go wrong!

I have'nt heard from anyone on the Belly Star men's pantyhose that I bought on ebay. They are too small for me. Does anyone want them for a trade?

Belly Star Pantyhose too Big, Want to Trade?

It has been a while since I posted last. Thanksgiving is such a busy time of the year for me. Now that it is over, I finally have some time to breathe...

After what it seems like weeks, I got my ebay purchase of Belly Star Men's Pantyhose in today. They are a size large, but fit more like a medium. For the record, I'm 5'11", about 175 pounds. These hose were a little tight, and a little short. They would probably be fine for someone a little thinner and shorter. That being said, before I try to sell them on ebay to recoup what I spent on them, I'd like to offer up a swap with one of our readers. I'd be interested in any hosiery as a trade. New Old Hosiery on ebay

One of my great sources for men's pantyhose trends is ebay. I look a few times a week to see what is selling under the search title of "men's pantyhose" or "tights for men". I found these last week. I have a pair of Belly Star tights, but they are much more opaque than these. they also have a fly. After emailing the seller and finding out hat these have a fly, I knew I had to buy them. I was the only bidder, and waited until after I won the auction to post a picture so you all wouldn't get into a bidding war with me! I will post my review as soon as I get them.

Thank you readers for the over 22k views of this blog. As we approach the third year of its existence, I believe the name will be changing to international Men in Tights Day on 1/1/11. I'm going to try promoting the idea of the men in tights day for the next year, and see where it brings me, so stay tuned.

International Men in Tights Day on LAUF

In following the theme as of late, I wanted to post a picture of the hosiery I'm wearing today:
This is how a pair of Comfilon A549's look under similar lighting as the previous pictures. In keeping in theme, I shot below the crotch. at a similar angle. These are much lighter than the Gerbe Satin 20's I posted the other day. they are also lighter than the Doyeah 80's.

I have to keep closer watch on the hit counter on the side of this blog. It is almost up to 22,000!

Doyeah 80 Denier Footless Opaque Men's Tights

Today I tried on my new Doyeah footless Tights for men. They are one size fits all, and at 5'11", 175 pounds, The fit just fine. I posted two pictures of them to show how they appear to be semi-opaque. When I am standing straight without my legs bent as in the first picture, they appear opaque with a slight sheen. In the next picture with my knee bent, they appear slightly sheer. The fly in these appears to be similar, but a little different than their footed version. On me, the fly works better with these than the footed ones. A little more material in the fly region of the footless tights keeps me in. the footed variety has a little less material which can lead to pieces starting to fall out, if you catch my drift.

I have found the footless tights like these and the Comfilon A876 to be a great option for times when I may want to wear a different sock.

Is anyone interested in joining me for iMiTD (international Men in Tights Day) on 11/1/11? If so, let me know. If I don't hear from the original author of iMiTD, by the end of the year, I may start my own site separate from this one to promote a day for men to wear hosiery.

A Selection of Mens Hosiery Packaging

Over the years, I have saved the packaging from the several different types of male specific hosiery that I have tried. I thought it may make a neat collage to show the different brands over the years. In this picture you can see Doyeah, Ela, Belly Star (no longer in production), Lida, Gerbe, A real old Mr. Influential, the original Man-T-Hose, and a couple of different variations of Comfilon. I believe these have been all of the male specific brands I have tried. I know there are some I haven't tried, do you know what I've missed?

Still stomping for next year's iMiTD (international Men in Tights Day) a celebration of men wearing hosiery, come on let's get something going for next year on 11/1/11!

Gerbe Satin 20

As I was saying in an earlier post, I received a shipment from Luxelegwear on Monday. I washed both pairs, & today I'm wearing Gerbe.

My first impressions of the Gerbe was that they appeared to be durable. They have a wide waistband. I was excited to try them on, and I took a shot of my legs in the hosiery. As you can see, the black Gerbe 20's almost appear opaque. This may just be the poor lighting where I took the picture, because they are sheer, just not too sheer. After wearing them for a few hours, I will say that I am satisfied. The real test will be how durable they are.

I have not yet heard from the original founder of iMiTD. I was thinking earlier today as I went running while wearing Doyeah tights under my running shorts that maybe the whole month of November should be a celebration of men wearing hosiery, and not just the first day!

It Must Be a Sign

Well, yesterday after two weeks of waiting, I finally received my order from Luxelegwear. I took it as a sign that I should continue my quest to promote international Men in Tights Day (iMiTD). I have emailed the original founder to see if he wanted to collaborate to make 11/1/11 the next official iMiTD!

The hosiery I received from Luxe was washed, and I will be wearing them an reviewing in the coming days, so stay tuned!

International Men in Tights Day

A few years ago, someone tried to start an internet movement by pronouncing November 1st as International Men in Tights Day, a day to promote hosiery wearing by men. Being the first of November, I looked up the website, and found no activity since 2007. This makes me think that maybe this should be my new calling. Maybe since this blog has morphed into my ramblings & reviews, I should try to promote men wearing hosiery by giving them a day as coined by the previous promoter. I am doing my part right now by wearing some Comfilon 849 tights (under my pants). I will continue to celebrate iMiTD by wearing some footless Comfilon support tights thisafternoon to run

I placed an order from Luxelegwear.com, for a pair of Gerbe Satin 20's, and a pair of Doyeah Footless tights. I already have the footed version of the Doyea's, and they have held up well. There are certain times, when wearing different socks may be advantageous, so I thought these may be worth a try.

Thinking of Trying Some Gerbe

While looking at websites that sell mens hosiery, I noticed that Luxelegwear.com has the Gerbe Mens Satin 20 Tights for $36.95 USD. This is cheaper than most online retailers who seem to be around $44. Since I recently got a birthday gift of $42, seems like the right thing to purchase. If anyone else is interested, Luxelegwear seems to have a clearance on the Gerbe. They offer a three pack for $86, or just under $29 each! Has anyone tried Gerbe? I'm interested in their fit and durability.

Accessory for Men Who Wear Hosiery

A great idea for men who may not be fully confident to wear hosiery in public is convertable pants. These are pants with a zipper around the leg mid thigh, so that one can zip them on and off as needed. These are great to have so that if your confidence is up, you can zip them off, and if you don't want to showcase your hosiery, you can zip the legs back on. This time of year, they are on clearance (at least here in the northern hemisphere). I found several varieties yesterday at Dick's Sporting Goods, a great accessory for the pantyhose wearing man.

New hose with a Fly from Comfilon

Comfilon introduced a new style of mens pantyhose with a fly, A660, sheer to waist support pantyhose with a fly. Steve Katz, owner, said recently on the LAUF board, that there was going to be some new stlyes with a fly coming out to replace their flagship style A549, which is being discontinued.
Here is a description from the Comfilon website: "The Microfabric™ material is between opaque tights and sheer pantyhose in opacity, perfect for in-between weather and able to accommodate a wide temperature range for wearing under trousers or with shorts. The fabric is smooth and glides well under trousers, massaging your legs all day. The comfortable all-sheer brief minimizes moisture build-up and features a crotch gusset for added strength and durability, yet is inexpensive because it has no male-comfort front panel and no fly opening. The toe is not reinforced because with the heavier fabric, it doesn't need to be; it already has good durability. Compression AND coolness? Yeah, we can do that."
I always like seeing new styles come out with a fly. To me, we as men need a fly, it just makes things easier. I probably won't be placing an order right away, but when I do I will be sure to post a review of them here.

Another interesting ebay find. I'm going to keep a watchful eye on this one. I like collecting old versions of mens tights/pantyhose. I just wonder if these Manly-legs have a fly?

Comfort4Men On Sale Soon at Shapings

Shapings now has the Comfort4Men hosiery listed, but not for sale yet, as they have not come in. The hose are listed at $49.95 in US dollars, yikes! I would love to try them out, but $50 is a lot for one pair of hose. I understand that they are compression grade, (and they have a fly, which is almost a MUST for me), but they would have to last a long time for me to spend that much on them. Heck, I could get three pairs of the Comfilon 549's for the same price!

This Summer Has Not Been the Summer for Legwear

Sorry to my readers, I have not posted a lot this summer. As they say, "It's been wicked hot!" Thankfully I've been wearing Comfilon knee high stockings this summer, so at least I have the feel of legwear on my feet.




I've been watching this manufacturer, Confort4men over the summer. Apparently in September (which by my calculations is tomorrow) Shapings will start carrying them. I'm interested in seeing what the price will be. They look as if they will be a little pricey, but they do have a fly, which I almost require in my legwear.

Don't fret, fall will be here soon, and maybe with wearing more, I'll have more to write about. It's not that I haven't wanted to write, I just haven't had anything to write about. Is no news good news?

While looking at pictures on line, I thought I saw Robin from the Adam West TV show of the 60's wearing pantyhose. Kinda looks like it to me, what do you think?

New Body Stocking from Comfilon

Wow, I logged onto the LAUF forum, and found that Comfilon has finally finished and is now selling their body stocking for men! http://www.comfilon.com/catalogbodystockings.asp?SID=3D551652-CE4A-4498-8EE9-D42911242FB0 It is only available in the color shown for now, and offers their fly opening (a requirement on my hosiery). not sure If I'll be getting one of these, but I like the concept!

Newly Inspired

I was newly inspired to write more, after seeing this blog posted on eMANcipate.net, but then ran out of time and steam. I like to write, and include pictures, because I feel that Internet readers like pictures, and I also think that it adds to the story. Well, I have no pictures today. I've been scouring my sources for stories and pictures, but alas I have none.

When this blog started, it was supposed to be a collaboration between Mrs. PH (my wife ) and I. She didn't really get involved, and the blog kind of morphed into my reviews and ramblings. I wish she would get involved, but I know that she does not share my affinity of tights and pantyhose. She is OK with me wearing for practical reasons (ie in the cooler months for warmth under pants). She would not be OK, (I'm sure) with wearing under shorts for fashion, or for the other "f" word "Fetish"

I wear tights/pantyhose because I like to. I, probably like many others, tried on pantyhose at a young age, and was turned on by it. Do I wear for practical purposes, now yes. But, do I still get a thrill from wearing them? Absolutely.

Wow, I was farting around today, looking at men's pantyhose sites for anything new, when I decided to look at e-Mancipate.net. There in the links section, I found a link to our blog! http://www.e-mancipate.net/our-links-at-e-mancipatenet/58-mantyhose-related-blogs Does that mean that I am a true voice for men who wear pantyhose? I like the e-mancipate description of this blog: "Good and entertaining blog about the mantyhose with lots of product reviews" I guess I need to keep up the good work, and keep writing!

Sadly, there has been no input from Mrs. PH Balanced. I wish that would change, but I don't think she even reads the blog any more.

Also more disappointing news. I was contacted by someone who bought the Setal pantyhose off of ebay. They said that the "third leg" was way too small. Looks like the Doyeah Cool Trunk have been the only "Mantyhose" that are like the original, that are worth buying!

I'll try to post more now that I'm a voice for men who wear.

This Blog is not Dead Yet!

There just has not been a lot of men's pantyhose news or personal pantyhose happenings for me. Death of a flagship style of mens pantyhose

I was shocked shortly after making my last post to get an email from Comfilon stating that they will be discontinuing their 549 mens pantyhose and 849 mens tights both with a fly. I have to place an order and stock up before they are all gone. As I have said before, I'm a sucker for hosiery with a fly, and those styles are my favorites, the fly just completes the package for me. I've tried other styles, but none come close. Maybe I should look for a replacement style / brand instead:(

Another New Doyeah Product

I know it's been over a month since I last posted, but there really has not been any new hosiery news. Today, after checking the Doyeah site, I found they have a new product out, mens capri's.

Doyeah also helped out by showing how they can be worn, bravo Doyeah!

I found two ebay auctions for "Mantyhose" mens pantyhose with a third leg. It says the brand is Itallia, "Cipry Setal 20" A Google search revealed nothing. Oh, here's the links:

Mani-Hose

Another great ebay find! Looks like these may be from the early 70's, too bad they didn't catch on then. I was originally going to wait until the auction ended to post this, so that I could bid on them, but when Comfilon announced a sale on the style A876, I decided to spend my money on the modern version, instead of an antique pair, that I probably wouldn't wear. Good luck to the bidders!

Are you getting hosiery for Valentines Day?

Or maybe giving hosiery? I know better than to do that, Mrs. PH would not be impressed. I, on the other hand wouldn't mind getting some!

Lately, I've been getting into footless hosiery. I've been wearing the Doyeah footless sheers, and Comfilon footless 876's, which are great. I want to try the Doyeah footless opaques, and found these on ebay:

I like the option of wearing different socks or none at all. I also find that especially in sheer hosiery the toes/feet are always the first to go.

Pantyhose for men! Don't laugh, they're selling!

Well this blog has been active for almost a year. It started as a collaboration between Mrs. PH and I, and has kinda morphed into just me. I wish Mrs. PH would be more involved.

In the mean time, in an effort to keep the Blog rolling, I search the internets (yes, I purposely spelled it "internets". It was a joke on a TV show, can't remember which one) for new material. Today, I searched for Lida men's tights, and found that they Cary a footless version, but I can't seem to find anyone besides Lida who Cary them. Lida apparently only sells in bulk, and I' not ready to get into the hosiery business, at least not yet...
